Why “Just Walking for Exercise” is NOT Making You More Healthy And Three Reasons Every Executive SHOULD Implement Interval Based Exercise.

Walking for exercise has been widely touted as one of the gold standards for individuals that are aging to “keep them healthy”.  Walking isn’t necessarily bad, but how you’re approaching walking likely is.  If you’re staying in a “steady state” walking the same pace the whole time keeping your heart rate the same, you’re likely losing out one of the easiest ways to hack your body and improve your overall health.  Interval based exercise has been documented again and again to show significant cardiovascular and muscular benefits with very low risk.

Here are three reasons EVERY executive SHOULD incorporate interval based exercise.

Slow Heart Rate Recovey Immediately After Exercise is Strongly Associated with Death:

According to a recent study by the American Heart Association slow heart rate recovery longer than 10 seconds is associated with poor cardiovascular function and likely disease. This means simply doing steady state cardio alone is likely NOT improving the cardiovascular gains reducing risk of heart disease. Working on heart rate recovery (interval based) does every time you hit a rest interval. Translation. Interval based cardio likely results in greater longevity so you get to keep conquering the world longer.

High Intensity Interval Based Exercise Tends to Reduce Pain More than Walking for Exercise:

The vast majority of clients I work with in practice daily do high intense (low to no pain) interval based exercises targeted at their injury which results in improved exercise tolerance and ultimately resolution of symptoms. This is consistent with a recent research study suggesting the use of HIIT to improve exercise pain tolerance. It also has resulted in FASTER than usual recovery AND prevention of further injury. That means you stay well and get stronger faster than doing 9,999 repetitions of that same boring rehab exercise you’ve been doing that you got off YouTube.

That Euphoric Feeling Afterwards:

Because of the increased oxygen demand there is a flood of new oxygen to the tissues and also the brain resulting in you literally feeling better due to increased oxygen demands being met by you breathing heavier. It is well known when you are able to get greater oxygen to nearly all human biological tissues, your body just does better. And when the tissues feel good, your body feels good, when your body feels good, your brain tells you that all is well and you can continue sitting in the drivers seat of life instead of merely being a passenger.

This SIMPLE hack is one of the best ways I have been able to RAPIDLY create changes in my clients ultimately helping them restore their health so they can continue taking over the world in their businesses.
